Visa for language courses in Canada


Visa:

- valid for every citizen from foreign countries
- citizens from the UK with a notation "Britsh Subjects" or "British Protected Persons" require a visa in the passport
- Citizens of the following countries and territories require a Visa to visit or transit Canada:

Disclosure by a passport does apply::

- to any citizen from abroad
- Exception: citizens from all countries who have a canadian residence permit


Concerning an internship:

- a working permission is necessary
- please request the working permission before entering Canada

Attention: only with the certification about the internship the application for a visa can be accepted

Application documents for a visa:

- application document
- 2 passport pictures
- passport (valid for at least 12 months at the day of entry)
- certification of the health insurance
- proof of sufficient funds for the period of stay and the return journey
- copy of the agreement by a Canadian university or any other educational institution
- clearance certificate
- should the university or another educational institution be located in Québec, it is necessary to require a Certificat d'acceptation du Québec (CAQ) at the immigration office in Québec


Period of processing:
- depends on the nationality and the type of visa


Validity of the visa:

- up to 6 months
- the immigration office will determine the duration of the stay by entry the country
- an extension of the stay is to apply before expiration of the visa at the immigration department


Fees:

- visitor visa (one-time entry): 50 € (75 Can$)
- visitor visa (multiple entry): 100 € (150 Can$)
- study permit: 85 € (125 Can$)
- work permit: 100 € (150Can$)
