St George Institute of Learning (St George) is a well-established institute specialising English language training. It is registered and accredited by The NZ Qualifications Authority as an education establishment, and a member of APPEL. Our teachers are all highly qualified and experienced. All of them are native speakers. Essentially, we seek to ensure that all students have maximum opportunity to reach their academic and career goals. We use the latest tried and tested teaching methodologies in our classrooms. St George's teachers are genuinely and actively interested in their students' progress. Each student gets personal attention to his or her language difficulties. We also provide extra afternoon classes which are absolutely FREE.

General English, Business English, IELTS Preperation (General/Academic). All courses can be standard (20 hours/week) or intensive (25 hours/week).
General English: The General English course aims to equip students with the skills needed to achieve success in an English-speaking environment. Whether you are serious about entering university, gaining vocational or international qualifications, passing international English language examinations or simply want to learn in an English speaking environment, St George can offer programmes tailored for your specific needs. International English Language Testing System (IELTS): St George provides IELTS preparation classes to assist students prepare for the IELTS examinations. IELTS is the most common measure of English language competency for entrance into New Zealand and Australian universities. Business English: Business English is intended to prepare the candidate for competent interaction with business associates in the increasingly English language dominated world business environment. General English: NZ$250/week IELTS Preparation: NZ$265/week Business English: NZ$285/week

We are very proud of the superb group of local families who host our students and we feel that the quality of the homestay accommodation is one of our most attractive features. Of course the beauty of New Zealand as a place to study English is legendary, and our families are real families, not impersonal boarding houses. Staying with a friendly family and studying in a good school gives our students total immersion in the language and that brings real progress fast. We have permanent staff responsible for the careful selection and continuous assessment of our families to ensure a very high standard. Students are provided with breakfasts & dinners at weekdays plus lunches at weekends.
