With breath-taking views of the river Shannon and Lough Gur, coupled with Limerick's many historical landmarks, e.g.. Standard courses generally run from 09.00 to 13.00 each weekday, giving a total of 20 hours per course each week. In the afternoons, participants may use our Self-Access Area for individual study or may explore the many attractions of Limerick and the surrounding countryside. Intensive Courses generally run from 09.00 to 13.00 each weekday and from 14.00 to 16.30 on two afternoons, giving a total of 25 hours a week. (For morning classes, participants may be in the same class groupings as participants in the Standard Courses.) Participants are free on three afternoons per week to join the social activities or explore Limerick and the region. Afternoon classes allow participants to develop their General English. The classes are also suitable for students who intend taking one of the following Cambridge examinations: PET, First Certificate, Advanced. As with all courses, entry to classes will be decided by the level of English demonstrated in the placement test.

Accommodation on campus (student village) or with host families can be booked in advance, according to each course participant's requirements. * Campus Accommodation: The University has five student villages on campus. These consist of individual study bedrooms with communal kitchen and sitting-room in modern apartments/houses which accommodate 4 or 6 people. All bedrooms are single rooms. Accommodation is normally in the newest of the student villages, Dromroe or Thomond Villages, where all bedrooms have an en suite bathroom. Price: €140 per week during the summer. This rate includes towels and linen on arrival, and one linen per week. Houses are cleaned once a day. * Homestay: Accommodation is organised with local families. Family accommodation includes half-board Monday to Friday (Bed/Breakfast/Evening Meal) and full board at the weekends. All rooms are single rooms unless otherwise requested. Price: €140 per week

A range of optional activities and excursions is available to course participants. Activities can include visits to the theatre, cinema, pubs with Irish music, international food fairs, sports, Irish dancing. Courses include a free half-day excursions to some of the many interesting locations near Limerick, and a free full-day excursions at the weekends. Participants can also use the excellent sports facilities on campus. The cost varies according to the activities/excursions and students only pay for those in which they decide to take part. There is something for everyone!
