In June 1980 we began trading under the name of Firstround Limited. Accommodation, excursions and guided tours were offered to school groups visiting Great Britain. In 1982 our first English language courses were set up in Ealing. These turned out to be such a success that \"Youth Service Schools\" was born and in the summer of 1983 we prepared a standard package for junior students. This consisted of an English language course, cultural and sports activities and accommodation in local families. In 1986 \"Youth Service Schools\" gained British Council accreditation for its summer courses and subsequently became a member of Arels (the Association of Recognised English Language Services). In 1988 \"EuroAccents\" was started. All year round language courses to adults were offered. In 1991 \"EuroAccents\" obtained accreditation from the British Council and became a member of Arels.

Our extensive range of courses and established links with higher educational institutions makes studying with GEOS simple, fun and effective. The four language skills (speaking, listening, reading and writing) are practised thoroughly. Grammar is introduced and consolidated and students are encouraged to improve their communication skills. Course books are provided during lessons and tape recorders and video equipment are also used. There is a small library and students have access to a computer for self study.

Students are treated as a full member of the household - the atmosphere is warm and friendly. Unless two or more people apply together, students are placed in single rooms. There is a choice of bed and breakfast or half-board. Most homes are within walking distance of the school. At many of our schools we can also arrange hostel or dormitory accommodation. Many hostels are within walking distance of our schools. A typical hostel will have single rooms and shared kitchen, bathroom and TV room facilities. For short term stays some schools are also able to provide backpacker hostel accommodations which are centrally located.
