Milan is the second biggest town in Italy, and the most economically developed. In Milan you will get to know people from every region of Italy and from every country of the world. Unfairly considered of minor importance in the historical and artistic field, Milan is the city where ancient times meet the modern age. Built in the IV century B.C. by Celtic tribes and later conquered by the Roman empire, and then the Barbars, the Sforza, the Spanish, the French and the Austrian empire arriving until the late XIX century when Milan was added to the Italian Reign and started to grow, particularly from an economical and industrial point of view. Now it’s considered a door to Europe with all the major banks and the most important Stock Exchange in Italy making Milan a huge economic center. In Milan it is also possible to see artistic places such as Castello Sforzesco, the Last Supper by Leonardo da Vinci, the Duomo (third largest in the world), the Galleria Vittorio Emanuel II, the world famous Opera house “La Scala” , or simply walk around the shops in the “fashion district” where al the big names have their boutiques. During the evening you can enjoy a fantastic “aperitivo” in one of the hundreds of bars and cafés in the Navigli, an area with a large concentration of artists and formerly the harbour of Milan where the canal still flows today.
