The Location
Our school is located in the heart of downtown Montreal. Most of the city's residents are bilingual: they speak English and French and are more than happy to help visitors in either language. GEOS Montreal is in the city center and on the corner of Crescent St., which is the trendy 'Party & Restaurant Central' It takes about 5 minutes to walk to Montreal's famous Underground shopping centres, McGill University and Montreal's Museum of Fine Arts. Enjoy learning and living in the most unique city in Canada! Montréal is an island in the large Saint Lawrence River in the Canadian province of Québec. The city is built around a mountain and has maintained many green spaces for parks. The eighty ethnic communities and French heritage of most of the people in Québec, greatly add to Montréal's vitality and uniqueness within North America. Most of the residences are bilingual and can speak English and French.

Accommodation
Students have lots of alternatives for accommodations in Montreal. Hostels and apartment-hotels are options year-round. Prices and availability are based on the seasons, so students should contact us if they are considering these alternative accommodations. Of course, our home stay program is the most popular choice of accommodations for everyone who wants a true Canadian experience! GEOS carefully screens all host families to be sure that they have the qualities necessary to provide our students with the best possible experience in Montreal! All GEOS families must also undergo a security check. The safety and happiness of our students comes first at GEOS. More than just an educational experience, home stays allow students to become fully involved in every aspect of life in Canada. Our families are selected on the basis of their interest in other cultures, their willingness to share their lives with students, and their genuine commitment to providing students with ongoing support during their stay in Montreal. We take a lot of care in matching students with the best host families, considering not only the physical needs of the students, but the emotional issues as well. Students are provided with their own personal space, 3 meals a day, and all of the benefits that come with being part of a Canadian family! You may be interested in staying in a residence hotel or dormitory. This option is available in many of our locations.

Learning English is much more than sitting in a classroom. Meeting people, talking to shopkeepers, playing sports and watching movies can all be used as tools to teach students in a lively, interactive way and allow them to immerse themselves in the Canadian lifestyle. We also make sure students don't miss out on the best tourist activities and attractions. You can participate and visit local tourist attractions with GEOS staff and students. Trips are provided at a nominal cost.
