Downe House is one of the most prestigious boarding schools in England. It is 45 minutes away from Heathrow International Airport, our hour from Central London and half an hour from Oxford.Accommodation: students are accommodated in pleasant and comfortable study – bedrooms -singles for the Yanks (our oldest students) -doubles & triples for the Brits -doubles, triples & quads for the Springboks -2 to 5 students per room for Kiwis & Aussies (our youngest students) Boys and girls are strictly segregated into separate houses and age groups Bed linen is provided and changed weekly Bathrooms are located conveniently near the bedrooms A Free laundry service is provided once a week.Our concept is “Immersion in English at all times.” This means that the students have to speak English at all times, during classes, but also during meals, activities… Lessons are highly intensive, but fun! Regular activities:  Sports and activities: Badminton, swimming, tennis, volleyball, football, cricket, squash, mountain biking etc. as well as arts and crafts. Two full day excursions a week, and one day of sports and adventureStudents go out twice a week for two full days excursions, and trips include London (Tower of London, Buckingham Palace, Mme Tussaud etc. and shopping in Oxford Street and Harrods) as well as Windsor, Oxford, Bath, Bristol… Students go on visits accompanied at all times by the staff. All entrance fees are included in the price.
Possible activities:  Opportunity for optional extra outings (at an extra cost to be paid on site) on Tuesday or Friday evening, Cinema – Ice skating
