Facilities & Services
We call this concept French language holidays and it basically comprises a morning language course leaving the remainder of the day for leisure and sports. The school offers a package that includes comfortable living accommodations, most a short walk to the beach, and a Children\'s Club with activities for the youngsters while the parents are in class. We also organize school excursions to fascinating and interesting places. Specializing in courses in the French language the school offers a full curriculum for individuals and families each according to their capacity and needs. Since the school was founded in 1977 thousands of youngsters and adults from all over the world have attended our language courses. The headmaster or le directeur, is Edmond de Saenger, a tall, charming French Professor with the moustache of an Imperial Guardsman who has been a lecturer in French economics at Stockholm University. He created the French language holiday concept so that the language is taught in small groups in a pleasant and cheerful atmosphere in light and airy classrooms in a modern educational facility. This French language school provides a window into France that the tourist seldom sees. It offers a view into French life and customs with the purpose of creating language fluency as quickly as possible. We offer a variety of courses from beginner\'s lessons up to intensive courses for professionals with reasonably priced living accommodations as part of the course package. You can join your classmates and teachers at lunch in a local restaurant and choose among many optional recreational and academic activities.

On the first day of attendance you will be required to take a short, written test to determine your knowledge of French. There are five levels, all from beginner to university status. If required you may switch groups during the first two days of your arrival in case you need to find a more suitable learning level. Teaching Method: Our instructors are native speakers and certified teachers. A number of them teach abroad during the academic year. All have a considerable experience in teaching French as a foreign language. Our goal is to create a lively classroom environment through the active participation of the students by prioritizing verbal skills. We teach you to communicate in French as rapidly as possible through role playing, verbal presentations and practical conversation. Although the student is encouraged to speak as much as possible, we do not neglect reading, grammar or enunciation. The teacher listens and corrects.

The staff can arrange two forms of lodging. Arrangements can be made for those who wish to live with a French host family that offer varying accommodations from a single room with kitchen privileges to an entire flat with complete family privacy. Those who prefer hotel accommodations can choose between a hotel room with or without meals or a modern efficiency apartment sleeping from 4-6 persons. Shopping facilities abound and the majority of these accommodations are within walking distance of the school. The important thing is to make your arrangements early so that there are possibilities for choice. The Riviera\'s accommodations fill very quickly as the season approaches. Accommodation in French families This accommodation is the most affordable and the most pleasant! You will get an insight in the daily life and customs of a French family. You will learn to understand the language faster. To live in a French family means that you will have to accept the family’s rules and customs. You are a member of their home, but also a guest. Our families are spread all over town but seldom further than 2 km (ca. 1-1/4 mile) from the center. Families with single rooms plus breakfast or evening meal are often located in modern residences possibly with a private bathroom. Family apartments These can be made available for visiting families where, at least, two members wish to attend the course. During June we have a fairly large number of available apartments. These are mostly 2-3 room efficiencies, often on the ground floor of a two-family house, sometimes in a suburban section of the city. A car is often a necessity. Price example: 2 rms/2-3 pers. in the inner city Euro 45 per day 2 rms/2-3 pers. in a suburb Euro 40 per day 3 rms/4.5 pers. in the inner city Euro 60 per day Some of these apartments are in older buildings that are in the traditional style. These homes bear the personal tastes of their owners and have character. Like many older homes they contain furniture and appliances of varying age and require a guest who feels that living in France should be an experience that is different from the omnipresent motel milieu. These flats have been obtained through long-time personal contacts and the prices shown are far below those that are available through a rental agency.
