Courses:
TOEFL and TOEIC preparation courses, Business English, the Cambridge FCE preparation course, and TEFIS (Teaching of English for International Students).
The price indicated includes 22.5 hours per week. There is also the possibilty of taking 30 hours per week at a cost of 1110. At all of our nine levels, students learn pronunciation and enunciation, stress, reduction and intonation, and idioms and slang. Our Super-Intensive Program also includes specialized components: Intensive Oral Practice, Pronunciation Practice, Writing and Vocabulary, Listening Comprehension, English through Music, English through Travel and Tourism and Business English. Courses are four weeks long, with the exception of the Cambridge FCE (which is eight weeks). The first day consists of written and oral placement tests and an orientation of the surrounding area. Students are also tested at the end of each course and are given a monthly progress report and a graduation certificate upon completion of their studies. At The Language Exchange our focus at all levels is on speaking. Our Intensive and Super-Intensive Programs are specifically structured to maximize the class time spent on developing communication and comprehension skills. Our classes are small to ensure individual attention, so that each student may participate as much as possible. An integral part of our curriculum includes the use of modern audio-visual equipment, which provides our students with the chance to listen and respond to contemporary spoken English. We have an "English Only" policy.

Homestay Accommodation: Live with a Canadian Family! Our Homestay Program provides an ideal opportunity to experience life with a Canadian family. At the same time, Homestay enables students to further practice their English. We guarantee a safe, clean and friendly home with a private room. You will be provided with three meals a day (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), and you will have access to laundry facilities and a telephone. Our Homestay Families are situated throughout Toronto, and all are accessible by public transportation. An average commute time to school is 30 minutes. All of our Homestay Families are carefully screened and monitored by our Homestay Coordinator. A few days after your arrival, our Homestay Coordinator will meet with you to make sure you are happy and settling in nicely. We also have a 24-hour emergency telephone number, should you require this. In order to ensure you are happy with your Homestay, we ask that you fully complete our Homestay questionnaire. It is very important for us to find out if you are smoker, if you can live with pets, and if you have any allergies. It is also important that we know your preference as to family type. With this information, we are able to make the best match possible for you. We take great pride in our Homestay Service, and look forward to hosting you. Colleges and University Residences: Availability and choice of single or shared rooms varies depending on the time of the year. Private Accommodation: There are various furnished and unfurnished private rooms and apartment units available for rent in the city. Prices vary depending on the size and location of the unit.

We arrange events within Toronto as well as day and weekend trips to nearby Canadian and American cities. Our activities are a great way to explore something new, practice speaking English outside of class, and mix with nationalities from all over the world.
