Founded in 1971 The Anglo European School of English is located in Bournemouth, a very attractive resort on the south coast of England and a main centre for those wishing to study English in the UK. It enjoys a very mild climate and is less than two hours from London by train.The school is housed in its own premises between the city centre, the beach and the residential areas where most of our homestays are. Many students can walk to school while others come by bicycle. There is also a bus stop right outside the school. The city centre and beach can be reached in 5 minutes by bus or 10-15 minutes on foot. We offer a variety of General English and exam preparation courses (Cambridge and IELTS). There is a great deal of flexibility with courses beginning each Monday (except bank holidays) and lasting anywhere between 2 and 36 weeks. You can choose to study between 3, 41/2 and 6 hours per day. Courses take place between 9.00 am and 17.10 pm.The average class size is 10 and the maximum is 15.You have to be at least 16 years old to take a course with us.The year-round student population is about 100. In the peak summer months of July and August we have about 250 students.There is a good mix of nationalities with students coming from Western and Eastern Europe, East Asia, Latin America and the Middle East.The school building contains 9 classrooms, a computer suite with 15 new computers with broadband Internet access, which students may use free of charge and a cafeteria serving hot lunches, snacks and drinks. The cafeteria has a pool table and a wide screen TV with satellite channels and DVD player. There is also a library, a study room and a secluded patio where students may sit outside and also play table tennis.We have a full-time accommodation and welfare officer, who organises homestay accommodation for most students. You may choose between a single or twin room and between part-board (breakfast and dinner Mon-Fri, breakfast, lunch and dinner Sat-Sun) or full-board (breakfast, lunch and dinner every day). In the summer we also offer residential accommodation.There is a social activity programme organised by our activity coordinator. It includes free activities such as film nights, barbecues and different sports. Students may also take part in excursions at the weekends and activities like bowling and night clubbing at extra cost.

Bournemouth is one of England's premier resort towns. It is located on the south coast about 2 hours from London. It has a all the facilities a foreign students could want: great variety of shops, restaurants, pubs, night clubs, cinemas and theatres. The beach, which was recently rated as the best in Britain, is 10 km of golden sand. The surrounding countryside is very beautiful and peaceful. There are many places of great interest nearby; London, Oxford and Bath are all within easy reach for day trips and there are very cheap flights from the local airport to Scotland and Ireland.

We offer a great variety of flexible courses. The minimum stay is 2 weeks and the maximum is 36. Students may start their course every Monday. All students take a written and oral placement test before being placed in one of 6 levels from starter to advanced

Our accommodation officer inspects all host families at least once a year. They are chosen on the basis of proximity to the school, comfort and cleanliness of the house and friendliness of the family. Students may choose between single or twin rooms and between full and part board meal plans. In July and August students may also stay in a student residence in the town centre.
