We have made excursions, visits and tours an important part of all of our courses, and these make learning at Cairns College of English exciting and fun.

You can visit the Great Barrier Reef for snorkelling and diving, explore the Rainforest, enjoy unspoiled, sandy beaches and islands, go shopping, eat in fabulous international restaurants and much more.
Cairns offers all the cultural advantages of life in the city (concerts, nightclubs, cinemas, theatre, etc.), whilst offering the perfect environment and climate to enjoy all kinds of outdoor activities and adventures.
A multicultural city, Cairns has established Asian, European, South American and Indigenous communities creating the cultural diversity of the region. There are excellent sporting facilities, catering for just about every interest and includes five golf courses, indoor sports stadiums, tennis courts, basketball, soccer fields as well as horse riding, white water rafting, and hot air ballooning.
There are two major hospitals, 24hour medical centres and medical specialists providing an excellent quality of health care.
Casual employment may also be available depending upon the visa granted.
Continental delicatessens along with Asian food shops and major supermarket chains provide an extensive range of fresh produce and food supplies. Tropical fruits are abundant and very affordable almost year round.
Cairns, being a tropical region, experiences two distinct seasons: a winter period of mild temperatures and low rainfall and a summer period of warmer temperatures and longer periods of rain.
Winter or the dry season typically begins in May and ends in October and usually means idyllic weather. The tropical summer extends from November to April, and is known as the wet season. |
