Dublin School of English The Dublin School of English was founded and recognised by the Irish Department of Education in 1968 and is one of the leading English Language Schools in the world. It is an independent school that prides itself on giving a complete and quality service to its clients. The main campus is situated in the centre of Dublin in the Temple Bar area, beside Trinity College, Dublin University. It is ideally located for exploring Dublin\'s cultural and social life. During the summer months other locations are used both in the city centre and in modern colleges in the suburbs. English tuition is given by trained tutors experienced in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL). Most of our tutors have several years experience teaching abroad, and all have at least a university degree and a TEFL diploma. Video and taped material is widely used during class. A media library is available for private study. Textbooks and materials for all courses are included in fees. On our standard Courses the average number of students in a group is 12, with a maximum of 15. On the other courses numbers in a group vary according to the course selected. Groups of two, three or four persons are available. We also have a wide range of Individual Courses where tuition is on a one-to-one basis. Accommodation is arranged with selected families in the suburbs of Dublin. All families used by the Dublin School of English are inspected by a member of the School staff. The DSE does not contract accommodation to other companies, which means that it is able to control quality and maintain a direct relationship with Host Families and other accommodation providers. This also means that we can react quickly to a client’s needs. Single room or twin room accommodation is provided according to the course booked. Where a twin room is stated, a single room may be reserved against a supplement. Other forms of accommodation are available in university residences, hostels, guesthouses, apartments or hotels. All accommodation arranged is easily accessible from the School. Included in all courses at no extra charge is an Extra Curricular Programme of tours, excursions and cultural and social events. This is a high quality programme designed to compliment the formal classes in English and put students in an environment where they must use their English. It is also an excellent way for students to meet other students of the school. The DSE provides quality courses with all services and fees included at great value. Check out the extra charges and hidden fees of other schools and make the comparison for yourself.

Regular activities:  Summer: 1 full-day coach tour weekly, 1 half-day tour weekly, 1 or 2 programme items every day. Off-Season: At least 1 full day coach tour every three weeks, 3 or 4 programme items weekly.
Possible activities:  Visits to places of cultural and historical interest; traditional Irish Music and Dancing evenings; film afternoons; concerts and garden parties; sports (during the summer)
Throughout the whole year we organise a complete free time programme for students of the DSE. We do consider this to be a very important part of a course. Not only does it give people an opportunity to see some of Dublin and its surroundings, but it also teaches something of the history and culture of Ireland. For many students it gives them an opportunity to meet and mix with students from classes other than their own, and from another country. This gives people a chance to practice their English in a relaxed and informal environment. It is common in class for teachers to incorporate this material into the classes. We have a Programme Manager who works practically full-time on coordinating the Social and Tour programme. This is automatically included in your course fees. There is no charge for any programme items, and students are actively encouraged to take part.
